Twelve Classics for 2017

As I did this year, I’ll be participating in the Blind Spot Series in 2017. Every month, I’ll watch a new-to-me classic film and write up my thoughts afterwards. Here’s my list:

If you’re interested in taking part, more information can be found at The Matinee.

    1. Thanks! Yes, it’s a fun project, and in my case, at least, it’s a great way to force myself to watch some of the movies I’ve wanted to see for a while but keep putting off. I’m sure I still wouldn’t have watched Metropolis, for example, if it hadn’t been on my list this year.

    1. If it makes you feel better, there are a lot on your list that I haven’t seen either, including Seconds, which I very nearly put on my list (and I’m quite impressed that you’re tackling Dekalog, another one I haven’t seen). Thanks for hosting! I had a lot of fun with the project this year, so I’m looking forward to doing it again.

      1. Thanks for the recommendations! I hope to watch Seconds at some point in the near future, even if it’s not on my official list, and maybe I can set aside a week or so for Dekalog. The length is a bit intimidating, but each part is shorter than I realized, so it should be manageable.

  1. From the handful of films I’ve seen on your list, it looks like you’re in for a great year! I’m sure you already know that you need to have some tissues handy when you get around to Make Way for Tomorrow.

  2. I am just discovering your wonderful blog and I look forward to exploring! I have seen seven of the movies listed, and look forward to watching the rest! I love them all for different reasons, but especially Laura.

I recently wrote on my blog about Make Way for Tomorrow and The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp. I will post my blog site info if you want to have a look at other movies I have discussed – leave MWFT and TLADOCB after you watch them if you wish!

    1. Thanks so much! I’ll be sure to check out your blog — I see that your most recent post is on Woman in the Dunes, which is one of my all-time favorites, so that’s a great sign. πŸ™‚
